Life is a Rollercoaster Ride

Life is a Rollercoaster Ride

Have you been on a rollercoaster? Once the ride begins, you start climbing up to the top, and the next moment you plunge down to the very bottom, only to be hoisted right up again! There are some wild corners, absurd turns and twists, and you even get turned completely upside own a few times. While a few enjoy the ride, the majority experience fear and apprehension and wait for the ride to be over!

Life is like a rollercoaster ride. It has its ups and downs, sharp turns and unexpected moments. In life, there are things that are stable and uneven, comforting and disturbing, and you will never know what life has in store for you the next moment. But the moment you let yourself be engulfed in your fears, you are letting fear block you potential journey to success.

When you fight life’s uncertainties, life seems to get harder. The things that you hate seem to worsen and remain with you, and you can’t seem to get the things you want. When you fight the rollercoaster of your life, continually complaining about things going wrong, you are bound to have a nightmarish ride, sadly missing out on the greatest of life’s promises and rewards.

The rollercoaster will not change for you; it will keep on going up and down until you get off from it. It is up to you to decide how you are going to maneuver it.  You can’t change everything that happens to you, but you can definitely change your attitude towards it all. When you DECIDE to enjoy the ride of life, despite how scary it sometimes get, you attract those circumstances that will give you ever-increasing reason to be happy and successful.

A rollercoaster ride is short, so too life per se. All you can do is enjoy every moment of the ride called life, leaving no regrets behind!

Ramadan Mubarak

Ramadan Mubarak
It’s that time of the year again, when Muslims around the world gear up to fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, requires the Muslim community to fast during the daylight hours. The fasting doesn't just include starving off meals, but also requires devotees to refrain from drinking water. And of course, the festival is also associated with delicious treats such as kebabs, baida roti and Haleem, which are available across the city.

Significance of Ramadan:

Ramadan is known to be the month when Muhammad, the holy prophet received the initial verses of what later became The Holy Quran. The story also goes that the holy prophet was meditating in the Cave Hira, which is situated on the mountain of Jabal an Nur in Mecca. The night that these verses were revealed to him is marked on the calendar today as Laylat al-Qadr. In these verses, it is believed, that Muslims were instructed to fast for the entire month of Ramadan, celebrating it as a month of worship.

Learn about Ramadan

  • Contrary to popular belief, it is not compulsory to fast. Fasting is a choice that an individual makes and is a decision that is completely their own.
  • The elderly, young children, those with a medical condition and travellers are excused from fasting.
  • Ramadan is not only about abstinence from food, but also from intimate relations, cursing, back biting and anything else considered provocative.
  • People often believe that Ramadan is a month of abstinence from food and water for 30 consecutive days, but it’s just abstinence from dawn to dusk. Iftar and the period between iftar and suhoor is the time when you rejuvenate and replenish your body.
How to get through Ramadan

The heavy rain and hectic commuting can make it difficult to keep up with your fasting schedule.

These tips will help make your experience easier.

At the time of suhoor, eat food that is healthy, which will keep you satiated for longer, while it is difficult to get up before the crack of dawn and to eat and eat till you’re full, it is vital that you do so in order to have enough energy to power through the day. Pick carbohydrate and protein rich food such as eggs on whole wheat toast, fruits and oatmeal, as these will help you feel fuller and digest slower.

Make sure that you drink just enough water between iftar and suhoor to keep yourself hydrated. Since water is prohibited, this is the only time you will be able to drink water. So drink up, even if it means visiting the washroom every now and then.

For a lot of people, Ramadan is a time of dwindling energy levels, so, try and get as much rest as possible. Avoid vigorous activities as much as possible and take a nap for at least half an hour during the day.

In most Muslim households, iftar is a grand affair, where families dish out lavish spreads. Make sure that you shop for groceries in bulk, so that you’re not spending all your energy on grocery shopping.

If you must exercise when you’re fasting, pick lighter exercises such as walking, which won’t require a lot of energy or tire you out.

If being around people who are eating makes you hungry, just go out for a walk until they are done, or you can also how you feel to them and ask them to go eat elsewhere.

For a lot of people, tempers usually flare when they are fasting, meditating for at least 15 minutes every day will help you control your temper.

Interesting Facts about Ramadan

  • There are some interesting facts associated with Ramadan that you may not be aware of. We shed light on a few.
  • If you think that fasting actually helps you lose weight, you’re wrong. Most people actually end up gaining weight during Ramadan. This is because people eat more unhealthy food late at night.
  • Both Muslim groups sunnis and Shi’ites break their fasts at different times. While Shi’ites wait for the last ray of light to disappear from the sky until they can eat again, Sunni Muslims break their fast when the daily maghrib prayer begins.
  • In the TV industry, Ramadan is a long-awaited season. Wonder why? It’s because Arabic, and Turkish studios produce 30 episode miniseries one for each night of the month all year round, in preparation for Ramadan.
  • Egypt is known to push back their clock by an hour to make fasting easier because the work day becomes shorter.
  • Most people break their Ramadan fast by eating dates that have been harvested in Egypt, North Africa and the Arabian Gulf states. The second most popular option is a fruit juice called jallab, which consists of dates, carob and rosewater.

Unacceptable truth of yourself...!

Truth of Yourself, Ruin Your Life
How much do you know yourself...? 100% or 75% or 50%..? No one can say that I know myself very well. Because our mind speaks one, our heart says one and we do something else. How many of you have planned something and have done right opposite to it or just not that exact plan.  Life is not a straight line or set timeline of milestones, you need to realize in the first place. It is fine if you do not complete your school or college, if you get married, finding a job which supports you, having a family, making money and live securely at this age or that age. It’s okay if you do, as long as your realize that if you are not married by 25 or become a president by 30 or even happy, for that matter this world is not going to convict you.  You are allowed to retrace your steps. You are allowed to figure out what inspires you. You are allowed time, but often we forget that. We choose a subject right out of high school because the proper thing to do is to go straight to University. We choose a job right out of University, even if we dint love the subject we have to do it, because we have invested lot of money and time into it. We go to work every morning because we need to support ourselves and our families abundantly. We keep on doing this assuming that we are fulfilling the responsibilities of our life, and one fine day we wake up depressed, stressed out with lot of pressure, not knowing where you went wrong and what’s wrong. This is how you ruin your life without knowing.

You ruin your life by choosing a wrong partner for your life. What is it with our need to fast track connection in relationships? Why are we so captivated with the thought of first becoming somebody’s instead of somebodies? Trust me when I say that an adoration bred out of convenience, a love affection that blooms from the need to sleep beside someone, a love affection that panders to our requirement for attention than passion, is a love that won’t inspire you at 6 am when your roll over and embrace it.

Endeavor to find foundational love, the sort of relationship that propels you to be a better man or woman, the sort of closeness that is rare rather than right there. “But I don’t want to be alone,” we often cry out. Be alone, eat alone, explore the places alone, and sleep alone. In the midst of this you will learn about yourself. You will grow and figure out what inspires you, you will create your own dreams, your own beliefs, your own stunning clarity and when you meet the person who makes your cells dance, you will be sure of it, because you are sure and confident of yourself. So wait for it, fight for it and make an effort for it. If you have already found it, care it because it is the most beautiful thing your heart will ever experience.

Most of them ruin their life by letting their past rule it. It is very common for certain things in life to happen. There will be heartbreak, confusion, days where you feel like you aren’t special or focused. There are moments that will stay with you, words that will stick but these cannot define you – it’s just a moment and simple words. If you allow every negative things in your life to outline how you view yourself, you will view the world around you negatively. You will miss out an opportunities because you dint get that promotion 2 years ago, convincing yourself that you were stupid, useless. You will miss out an affection because you assume your past love left you because you weren’t good enough or taken for granted. Because of this, now you don’t believe the man or the women who urges you to believe you are. This is cyclic, self-satisfying prescience. If you don’t allow yourself to move on what happened in the past, you will look at your future with that lens, and nothing will be able to breach that judgment. You will keep on justifying, reliving and fueling a perception that you shouldn’t have existed in the first place.

You ruin your life when you compare yourself to others. The amount of facebook followers you have does not decrease or increase your value. The amount of money in your bank account will not influence your compassion, your intelligence or your happiness. The person who has twice the possession than you does not have double the bliss or double the merit. We always check what our friends are linking, who our significant others are following and at the end of the day this not only ruins our lives but also ruins us. It creates within us this need to feel important, and in many cases we often put others down to achieve that.

You ruin your life by pacifying yourself. We all are afraid to say too much, to feel too deeply, to let people know what they mean to us. Caring is not synonymous with crazy. Expressing to someone how special they are will make you vulnerable. There is no denying that. However, that is nothing to be ashamed of. There is something breathtakingly beautiful in the moments of smaller magic that occur when you open up and being honest with those who are important to you. Let that girl or guy know that she/he inspires you. Tell your mother/father you love her/him in front of your friends. Express, express, express. Open up yourself, do not harden yourself to the world, and be bold in who and how, you love. There is courage in that.

You ruin your life by tolerating it. At the end of the day you should be excited to be alive. When you settle for anything less than what you naturally desire, you destroy the possibility that lives inside you, and in that way you cheat both yourself and the world of your potential. A person could be sitting behind a laptop right now writing an invoice for paperclips, because it pays the bills, or because it is comfortable, or because he can tolerate it. Do not let this happen to you. Do not ruin your life this way. Life and work, and life and love, are not irrespective of each other. They are intrinsically linked. We have to strive to do extraordinary work, we have to strive to find extraordinary love. Only then will we tap into an extraordinarily blissful life.

How to Reduce the Stress of New Motherhood

Stress Motherhood

A woman becomes an entirely different person as regards her appearance, attitudes, social status and responsibilities after childbirth. All these biological- psychological – social changes make a definite impact on the mental health of the mother.

In the first few weeks after birth, majority (75-85%) of mothers experience moodiness. They become morose, tired and worry excessively. These are called ’Blues’ and go away in 1 – 2 weeks’ time. As it is so common and the mother recovers quickly on her own, Blues is regarded as a mild moodiness which does not need medical treatment.

Sometimes, the mother becomes more and more disturbed emotionally and is unable to recover. She may feel very sad, tried, worried about trival things and unable to sleep restfully. In some cases she may appear abnormally cheerful, active and restless. In the most serious instances the mother becomes either still like a stature or excited to the point of violence. She may become suspicious and have false beliefs or hear voices. In all these situations, the mother is unable to care for herself and her newborn. There is a real danger that the mother may harm herself or her baby. Women who have had a pervious episode of mental disorder, a difficult pregnancy or delivery and do not have much support at home are more prone to such disorders.  All these conditions require urgent care of a qualified psychiatrist.

Even the mildest emotional problems can affect the capacity of mother to care for herself and her baby. It is possible that other family members help the mother in feeding or caring for the baby and take care of the mother as well. But ‘emotional nourishment’ can be provided only by the mother. Hence, the most disastrous consequence of emotional problem after deliver is that it affects the mother-baby bonding and attachment. This can lead to lot of emotional and behavioral problems in the child and dissatisfaction with motherhood.

Every woman must cultivate her mental health along with her physical health right from the time she starts planning for a baby. A woman with prior mental illness should make a proper plan about her mental health care during pregnancy and delivery. Women should get proper diet, rest and help in managing the household and employment during this time. All pregnant women and mothers should be screened for mental disorders. The couple can avail of counseling if they feel any mental distress or even doubts.

In the event that the mother suffers mental illness after delivery, urgent psychiatric treatment should be provided. It is of utmost importance that the mother recovers as early as possible and starts to bond with the baby. Many safe medications are available for use. Electroconvulsive treatment is often prescribed in this phase as it gives almost instant results and is perfectly safe.

The mother-child bond is the starting point of a new relationship. The mother’s mental health should be safe guarded to ensure a strong bond and a healthy relationship.

Take a Break

Sometimes your mind might scream enough please give me a break. It may not say this literally, but there will be many obvious physical signs like fatigue, inability to concentrate, feeling low, feeling overwhelmed, irritable. When you feel all these signs, it means your mind is being over worked, perhaps speeding away.

Can we get away from the speed that our lives bring in? Our life is organized by seconds, sometimes you need to catch 7:00 am train or to reach your office earlier or exact 9.00 am to swipe your employee card at the office. All things geared to keep you on schedule, which sometimes we can’t run away from as they keep our home fires burning.

But we can surely relax for at least 5 to 10 minutes during our hard work day. And we need to do this without feeling guilty and by mentally saying to ourselves my 5 minute break is coming up and I am going to take it. This is applicable whether you work outside or at home and for both adults and children. For children it is necessary to take a break or a time out when they feel angry or upset.

Taking short breaks in between the long work hours make one more productive. If you have a lunch hour coming up, please take this break away from your desk along with your friends and colleagues. Research suggests that when people skip their lunch breaks, they become tired faster and thus become less happy and enthused about their work. According to a research survey of 1,000 adults done in UK by BUPA, an international insurance company, companies in the UK lose nearly £50 mn/day, when employees don’t take break from their work as they become tired.

Thus it makes more sense for employers to encourage their employees to take these short breaks. It would be incorrect for bosses to think, that they are getting more work done when their team work without breaks. All employers need to encourage their employees to take a break to reduce the work stress to improve worker efficiencies.

Thinks you need to do when you decide to take a short break.

  • Take a short nap.
  • Go for a small walk in the sun.
  • Drink your quota of water while doing a puzzle etc.
  • Go chat with your friend, neighbor, and colleague.
  • Read a page of your favorite book, magazine or any articles or blogs online.
  • Clean up your work drawer and desk.
  • Surf the web, check something interesting.

There is no hard and fast rule on how to take your break. The goal should be to relax yourself to charge your mind positively. While short breaks calms an overworked mind during the day and a full day break or a short holiday can calm your mind and body. However, many people take their work along on a holiday as they are insecure about their jobs, thus defeating the very purpose of taking time out and de-stressing. While, this could be justified, it is still important to make time for yourself and spend time with family and friends.

Balance is the key to have a happy and successful life. Taking breaks helps us build this balance and allow us to pursue our dreams more efficiently and give a better perspective about things. So next time when you get a chance to take  a break, take it.

Will this city can be safe for Women?

Exactly what can prevent people from crime against women? The reply does not lies in what. It lies in who.

In spite of endless debate and extra coverage being given to rape cases in the news, safety of women is still an unattended issue.

If there is anything humorous about the brutal rape case of Delhi is usually to see the public ire, as well as their ability to take every issue to the streets. What is not amusing is the brutality of the act and also the delay of justice.

Safety is a local issue. No amount of caution can stop thefts, rapes or any other kind of crime. However, good surveillance might help restrict it to some extent.

Delhi : The city is infamous for its assaults on women, both verbal and physical. So much so that very few women head out alone even early in the night. However, no neighborhood watches are organized, and there is no activism help to make} women feel safe. It may be probably because it is much better to light candles and hold light against crime.

Activism is a double edged sword. While protesting it gives people a sense of false strength, mostly due to numbers. Individually, none of these protesters who burn buses or break barricades or beat up policemen, would ever go help a girl who is a victim of eveteasing. Such protestors (mostly youngsters) is probably not hardened hypocrites. They may be just venting their momentous anger. After a few days of yelling and screaming, they get exhausted and move ahead more exhilarating acts.

Criminals however they are apathetic to such events. Most crimes are performed in a fit of passion, rage or urge. Very few are deterred by potential for harsh punishments, even lawfully. As not many expect to be caught. A lot of them believe that they are able to escape much like a cat which drinks milk having its eyes closed. The protest slogans of “Cut, kill and castrate” are much less deterrents.

What is the right answer to the question - What can prevent people from crime against women? The answer does not lies in what. It lies in who. It could be a friendly neighbor who looks out for a girl in the bus stop. It could be a nice lady or men who immediately calls police if a nasty incident is about to take place in front of her/his eyes. It can also be speedy police action, which can nab criminals before the victim dies.

Makar Sankranti a Hindu Festival

Makar Sankranti is a Hindu celebration celebrated in all parts of India. Essentially it is a harvest celebration. In Maharashtra individuals appropriate Til Ladoo (a sweet made of sesame seeds).

Makar Sankranti is acknowledged as a standout amongst the most favorable days for Hindus. The celebration is commended specially in diverse parts of India. The southern parts of India additionally commended the celebration as Pongal and in Punjab as Maghi. In Gujarat, festivals are colossal as individuals offer bright oblations to the Sun as delightful kites. It remains as an analogy for arriving at to their cherished God. I love to fly kites, since kite-flying has gotten to a lesser degree a furor in the city, I fly kites only if there are enough people around me to enjoy.

Pongal is commended in south India. Families arrange sweet rice dish in pots. A considerable measure of individuals visit sanctuary in the morning and prepare the rice sweet dishes in an aggregation. Everybody begins together to arrange the dish. Next day they celebrate Mattu Pongal methods they love cow and on that day in Tamil Nadu "Manju Virattu" methods bull taming has been played on the guideline of man fighting and triumphing over brutes.

My Dream Destination

My Dream Destination is LONDON

London's charm lies in the fact that it has something for everyone. London has a sexy, shimmering cover with its heady melange of nationalities. London's beautiful architecture charts the growth of the city from Roman walls and Norman castles to the neo-Gothic Big Ben and post-modern skyscrapers. London is a quintessential city. It lets you do your own thing

This is the city that gave birth to the mini skirt, techno music and punk culture. It has been the home of James Bond and Sherlock Holmes. This is where Shakespeare's plays were more popular than any Hollywood film and Charles Dickens lived here.

Zodiac Signs Sagittarius

I am a Sagittarian. Know more about Sagittarius.

Zodiac Sign Sagittarius

Sagittarius sign is optimistic

Sagittarius is the most happy go lucky sign of the zodiac. Luck finds you wherever you are. You are optimistic, kind hearted, intelligent, creative, talented, friendly, outgoing to name a few, no wonder you are always lucky, you have traits that attract luck! You are full of energy, energy to do positive things and also you have enough energy to cause you problems...

Sagittarius sign is impulsive

You are notorious for your impulsive streak and being so worry free that you find yourself in sticky situations. You might even be borderline careless, but this is how free your spirit is. You can be a big spender but you never seem to worry about the repercussions of your actions. If you often find yourself in sticky situations, it's because you acted before thinking, you jump right in to any project or idea you think of. You somehow always seem to find your way out of your problems and strange situations, this is your lucky streak showing up again!

Sagittarius sign loves novelty

Your faith in the future and knowing you'll always be alright is the reason you don't make a plan and think before you act. You also usually have lots of untied ends, you will start a project with enthusiasm and as soon as it becomes too difficult, ties you down and the novelty wears off, you abandon it without ever looking back!

You hate restriction and you have a strong need to see what else is out there, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence and the person you don't know is always more interesting than the person you know. You need novelty and experience. You are the sign of the philosopher, you want to experience and learn as much as you can, driven by your natural curiosity for the way the world works.

Sagittarius sign is very direct and upfront

You are very direct and open, you never hold anything back, "what's the point of hiding anything?" you say, you tell someone exactly what you think of them, exactly what you know, where you found it out from - anything. You are a great socializer and you always know the latest hot gossip. Your straightforward open honesty can easily give you reputation of being unable to keep secrets, which is partially true and some people might think you are trying to slander them. You have no malicious intent, that is never your goal in fact you are one of the most honest people of the zodiac. People think you have a hidden agenda but you never do. You are like and open book to share with the world and you would never harm anyone, you a a friendly creature. Unfortunately, people misunderstand you because hardly anyone is as direct. If this is a problem of yours, maybe watch what you say around whom and avoid the negative gossip.

Sagittarius sign lives in the future

You live on a grand scale, you are always on the go and are physically active. Your mind lives on a grand scale too. Sometimes too much. You surpass small details and only focus on the big idea. This could cause you to get overwhelmed by the small facts and details once they appear. Sure going around the world is great and you know where you want to go, but don't forget that you need passports, visas, currency exchanged... These things could land you into trouble if you don't take care of it all before leaving the country. This is a metaphor for anything and you can probably relate. Never overlook your details and you will be more successful and have less problems arising down the road, this is especially true in business.

Sagittarius sign is social

You light up people's lives with your enthusiasm and energy, you make people happy and as a result, you naturally attract people to you. In the initial stages of a romantic relationship, you are so generous, happy and kind that the other person will fall in love with you, they will think you love them too but you are only infatuated. Your expressions are so great that your boyfriend/girlfriend will misinterpret your affections and think that you are committed to them. You are committed to no one, you are a free bird, you are just acting like yourself around the person, yes you are larger then life! Who wouldn't love to be around that type of person!

Sagittarius sign is extremely independent

Romantic relationships often cause you problems down the road because you hate the idea of staying with one person, having a family and living in one place forever, tied down to one person. Yet somehow, you know that's what life is about. This conflict will arise at one point in your life. This is part of your large character, you never want to downgrade. Your best bet is to find a parter with the same goals as you, to travel, live large, be open, honest, have fun and experience the world. You need a partner that is just as independent as you are so you two can respect and understand each other's space. Then maybe one day, you might be ready to settle down once your travels are out of the way.

Cute Puppies

I Love Puppies a lot... They are so cute, lovable, soft and most of all their masti.

I had a puppy and thats too Black Pomeranian. I kept his name 'Bruno'. I stayed alone with this cute little devil. When I go for work I leave him all alone at home. I keep everything ready for him and I go. I know how he must felt all alone, but no choice.

When I come back from ma work, tht cute little devil always stood near the door wagging its tail. He knw tht its me and we both are gonna have a fun time. I take him out for market and when its time to prepare dinner... uffffffffffffff tht devil dint allow me to do anything.

He just wants me to play with him, I do boxing with him, i palyed hide and seek with him. I enjoyed each and every moment when I was with him. He was so cute, understandble, lovable. I loved him a lot.

But that happiness was been for a long period. He got Jaundice and due to heavy dose, he expired. Just for 3months he was with me and left me all alone with his sweet memories. I cant forget him, he is still alive in ma heart.

From that day onwards I never felt to keep any pet at my home. I knw no puppies can be like my Bruno. I miss him a lot.

Cat is a domestic animal. It can be trained to obey simple commands. Cats use a variety of vocalizations and types of body language for communication, including meowing, purring, hissing, growling, squeaking, chirping, clicking, and grunting.

These are common misunderstandings that veterinarians frequently hear from pet owners, according to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Following is a list of popular myths that AAHA veterinarians and The Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) would like to dispel.

Myth: Cats always land on their feet.
Fact: While cats instinctively fall feet first and may survive falls from high places, they also may receive broken bones in the process. Some kind of screening on balconies and windows can help protect pets from disastrous falls.

Myth: Cats should drink milk everyday.
Fact: Most cats like milk, but do not need it if properly nourished. Also, many will get diarrhea if they drink too much milk. If it is given at all, the amount should be small and infrequent.

Myth: Cats that are spayed or neutered automatically gain weight.
Fact: Like people, cats gain weight from eating too much, not exercising enough or both. In many cases, spaying or neutering is done at an age when the animal's metabolism already has slowed, and its need for food has decreased. If the cat continues to eat the same amount, it may gain weight. Cat owners can help their cats stay fit by providing exercise and not over-feeding.

Myth: Cats cannot get rabies.
Fact: Actually, most warm-blooded mammals, including cats, bats, skunks and ferrets, can carry rabies. Like dogs, cats should be vaccinated regularly according to local laws.

Myth: Indoor cats cannot get diseases.
Fact: Cats still are exposed to organisms that are carried through the air or brought in on a cat owner's shoes or clothing. Even the most housebound cat ventures outdoors at some time and can be exposed to diseases and worms through contact with other animals feces.

Myth: Tapeworms come from bad food.
Fact: Pets become infected with tape worms from swallowing fleas, which carry the parasite. Also, cats can get tapeworms from eating infected mice or other exposed animals.

Myth: Putting garlic on a pet's food will get rid of worms.
Fact: Garlic may make the animal's food taste better but has no effect on worms. The most effective way to treat worms is by medication prescribed by a veterinarian.

Myth: Pregnant women should not own cats.
Fact: Some cats can be infected with a disease called toxoplasmosis, which occasionally can be spread to humans through cat litter boxes and cause serious problems in unborn babies. However, these problems can be controlled, if the expectant mother avoids contact with the litter box and assigns daily cleaning to a friend or other family member.

Myth: A cat's sense of balance is in its whiskers.
Fact: Cats use their whiskers as "feelers" but not to maintain their balance.

Myth: Animals heal themselves by licking their wounds.
Fact: Such licking actually can slow the healing process and further damage the wound.

For the most accurate information on these and other concerns about pet health care, the American Animal Hospital Association and The Cat Fanciers' Association advise cat owners to contact a veterinarian.
